Advocating for Human Rights

Katie McDermott, Advocate Associate:

I love my job! In 2011 I knew I wanted to work for The Arc. I knew that with all of my expertise in self-advocacy, my work helping others, and my experience giving presentations that this was something that I could do. I started working at The Arc Greater Twin Cities in 2015. Wow time flies when you are working hard!

As an Advocate Associate for The Arc Greater Twin Cities, I grow our values by helping others. I set up opportunities to learn about leadership and show people the way to better advocate for themselves.

Being a part of something wonderful, making a change in the world, living in the moment; this is why I love my job!
