Fall into fashion jackets

Did you attend our Fall Fashion Shopping Experience or have you watched the recap video? In early September, we talked about how some of your summer clothes can be transformed into your fall wardrobe (presented by Sarah Colvin, our personal shopping program director) in addition to your basic fall must-haves (presented by yours truly!) One thing I always talk about every fall are those FASHION JACKETS ?

Not sure what a fashion jacket is? They’re jackets that keep you warm during the fall time (or spring for that matter or even a cool summer night) when you don’t need a heavy coat quite yet, but it’s part of your outfit! Here are some examples:

Banana Republic Bomber Jacket: $7.99

Not only is this bomber jacket a great style for a fashion jacket, but it’s olive green too! You can consider olive green (as well as navy) as one of your basic colors, like black or white. It goes with almost everything. Another great fashion jacket in olive green to consider is a utility jacket!

Then you have your basic denim jacket, a year-round must-have. When I see a Gap or Old Navy denim jacket hanging there on the Arc’s Value Village rack, you bet I’m going to grab it for my client! Best brands for a denim jacket, hands down ?

One style that is (well, let’s just say a subtitle of a fashion jacket) also a fall must-have when you are sick of wearing cardigans over…and over…and over again, is a blazer! Not just any blazer though, a NAVY blazer! Like I mentioned before, navy is a great basic color alongside white and black.

Yes, cardigans (especially long cardigans) are SO great and SO comfortable in the fall time, but if you feel like you are wearing them too much or if you just want more of that tailored look (which most women do, especially mommas), try one of these fashion jackets! A great transitional piece into jackets, are the blazers made out of cotton and spandex. You can actually move in them and they’re super comfy, just like a cardigan ?
