Volunteer of the Year!

Karen Powell is our 2017 Volunteer of the Year!

Karen is described as an “anchor” for the volunteer team in Richfield. She is a tireless volunteer and has been known to volunteer more than one shift in a day on many occasions.

Last fall, she was in the Richfield store to help sort and set up the “boo” department. From September 20 through Halloween, she wore a different costume to the store every day. And, she repeats that routine at “Thriftmas” time, with quite the array of holiday apparel. She has a deep knowledge of the thrift business, and is an expert in directing guests to the right place in the store.

Karen works safely, efficiently, and cheerfully whenever she is in the store. She is full of compassion and is always offering words of encouragement during a hectic day. Karen loves the mission of Arc, cares about everyone in the store, and has endless energy in serving the Village.
