Thrifty Portraits
Have you ever had to get professional photos taken whether it was for your engagement, head shot or even a family portrait? If so, did you know what you were going to wear or did you ask the photographer what to wear? This actually happens to many people! Most of the time, too, you want to purchase something new because you do not want to wear something from your closet. Then when you do buy those new items, you don’t want to spend a fortune on them because you may only wear it once, am I right? This is exactly why Arc’s Value Village exists!

Some tips and tricks:
Purchase those layering pieces so YOU CAN wear them again! For example, you could tuck this Raglan shirt into a skirt. For the button-up, pair it under a Henley sweater and a skinny tie for a special occasion!
In addition to finding those versatile pieces, make sure they’re comfortable! If you pick something that is cute but ISN’T comfortable, you WILL be able to tell in the photos. Trust me!
When it comes to taking photos with your family, make sure you coordinate. Not saying they have to be matchy-matchy, but the overall style should flow together. For example, you wouldn’t want 1 person wearing dressy clothes while the other people are wearing a casual look with jeans. They will stick out like a sore thumb!
Or let’s say you’re updating your headshot; make sure your outfit shows your personality. If I were to take a headshot let’s say, I would wear something bright and pair it with a statement necklace because that’s my signature look. I would also be carrying that confidence throughout all the photos. Plus, people would be able to tell that I’m a bubbly, fun person!
