10 reasons Arc’s Value Village Bloomington’s grand opening should go on your calendar NOW

We’ve been working hard to prepare our fifth store location for our grand opening celebration happening 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. December 6 at our new Bloomington thrift store. Here are 10 reasons why you should be just as excited as we are to see what the new store has to offer during the grand opening and throughout the holiday season.
1. Our new store is huge!
The fifth Arc’s Value Village location at France Avenue South and Old Shakopee Road is over 14,000 square feet. That’s a lot of space for merchandise! Over 50,000 items are ready and waiting on the sales floor. New items are added daily, so what you see one day could be totally different the next.
2. You could get lucky & win at our Grand Opening!
You’ll be lucky if you stop by Arc’s new Bloomington store on Saturday Dec 6. Guests can spin the prize wheel to win gift cards, coupons & other treats. Everyone can enter to win a $100 gift card grand prize.
3. Find a meaningful way to volunteer
Dozens of shifts happen every day of the week at all five store locations. In 2013, 4,000 volunteers contributed 73,000 volunteer hours to Arc’s Value Village. The grand opening is a perfect time to learn more about how, what and where you can join this great team of volunteers.
4. Be a star and take a “Thriftie” (Thrift+Selfie)
Stop by our Grand Opening photo booth, and take a “Thriftie” of you, your friends, and your thrifted finds. Our photo booth will be decked out with fun thrifted props to make your “Thriftie” a memorable souvenir!
5. Get your “DIY” on, at a free DIY DEMO
Attend a free repurposing workshop at 11am on Dec 6, with the crafty ladies from Redefined Design. See what they whip up from thrifted finds. Check out our Pinterest site for even more ideas.
6. Walk away with a potential job lead

The Bloomington grand opening marks 19 days left of the holiday shopping season! Like the other four store locations, the Bloomington Value Village will also be home to one of our “Merry Thriftmas Holiday Shops.” These are the perfect one-stop-shopping hubs for ornaments, decorations, greenery, music, baking items, lights, gifts and anything else you need to spread some holiday cheer.
8. Discover a great resource to use when cleaning out the closet
Arc’s Value Villages are stocked via donations from customers. Aside from being a very green practice, this is also a great way to de-clutter before the holiday season brings an influx of gifts and new items into your home! 9. Get tips on revamping or updating your style
Stylists from Arc’s Value Village’s personal styling service will be on hand in our Haute Spot, to provide tips and tricks for updating your look with Arc’s Value Village finds. Whether you’re looking for a simple piece or two to add fashion flair to your wardrobe or have no idea where to start, join us for special access to this high-demand service.
10. Most importantly, you have the chance to support an excellent cause
All proceeds of your purchases during the grand opening go directly back to the families and individuals The Arc serves. Store sales provide 50 percent of the budget for The Arc’s programming, which includes many services that truly make a difference in the lives of those the organization serves. Not only will you look great, but you’ll feel great too knowing you’re helping make a difference for so many people.
